Have You Separated From a Church?

Leaving a church can have very traumatic effects, depending on the time and energy you invested, and the relationships that were built and possibly severed.

It’s not something to be taken lightly, but at the same time, it does get better.

Even after you’ve moved on, the feeling of displacement can linger. However, you must be intentional about putting yourself in an environment where you are safe to just…be, until things change.

I am so grateful for a couple I met years ago who didn’t know me from a can of paint but opened up their home for people to come and worship. I continued to show up month after month because I knew I needed to be around other people. Nothing was required of me, and honestly, I didn’t have much to give. I was tired, disconnected and just needed rest.

Transitions can be difficult, but don’t run from the “in between” spaces—the uncertainties, the unknowns, the not knowing how to feel. You will reconnect again. You will reengage again.

Let God do it according to His perfect timing.

If you have found yourself in a low place and need encouragement, you are welcome to email your prayer request to hello@getbacktotruth.com.

In meantime, meditate on this scripture:

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

As Always With Love,
